OLOPSC Inaugurates Third President

June 30, 2019 marked a historical moment for Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College (OLOPSC) with the inauguration of its third President, Dr. Armida Salvador Samaniego. It was a very timely event as Dr. Samaniego celebrates her 50th birthday in June of 2019.


The welcome address of the co-founder and 2nd President of OLOPSC and currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Madam Carmen Caday Salvador was delivered with much emotion as she signs off with love as the outgoing President. In recognition of her exemplary leadership and deep commitment to the ideals for which the institution stands for, she given a plaque of citation by OLOPSC Board of Trustees and was handed to her by OLOPSC Trustee Dr. Ramon E. Puray, Jr. and OLOPSC Trustee and Vice President for Administrative Affairs Mr. Arestophanes C. Salvador, Sr.


The installation proper began with the reading of the Board Resolution by Mrs. Rose Editha Salvador-Flores, OLOPSC Trustee, Corporate Secretary, and Vice President for Institutional Affairs. This document affirms the decision of the board to appoint Dr. Samaniego as the 3rd President of OLOPSC.


The very eloquent OLOPSC legal consultant Atty. Ulpiano Sarmiento III, also an OLOPSC trustee rhetorically introduced the new President with a rundown of her achievements and proudly described who she is and what she can.


After donning on her the President’s academic regalia by DepEd  Marikina Schools Education Supervisor, Dr. Elizalde Cena, together with Madam Carmen and OLOPSC Trustee Mr. Dionisio Salvador, Jr., and the imposition on her of the symbolic chain by OLOPSC Trustee Mr. Alexander C. Salvador, and OLOPSC Trustee and Vice President for Finance Mr. Jerry Salvador Hernandez, Dr. Samaniego took her oath of office which was administered by Dr. Virginia D. Akiate, Ceso III, Director IV, Commission on Higher Education, National Capital Region. This was followed by the benediction and blessing facilitated by Fr. Benjie Notarte, the school chaplain. The ceremony ended with the turning over of the College Mace by Madam Carmen assisted of Mr. Daniel Ambrocio, Senior High School Principal, to the new president Dr. Samaniego.


In the midst of the sparkles of gold, applauses and praises of the family and guests and tears of joy, the 3rd President delivered her 20-minute inaugural speech where she declares her vision of golden era for OLOPSC under her leadership.


In her inaugural address, she confidently accepted the stewardship of our beloved OLOPS College with great faith, enormous joy and unwavering commitment knowing that she has the support of many, “with you as my co-stewards, along with our team of dedicated school leaders, committed, caring faculty and staff, and our supportive PTA and alumni, I am confident and prepared to carry on and build on the great legacies of our Founding Father Dionisio Alonzo Salvador, Sr. and our 2nd President Madam Carmen Salvador.”


She committed herself to continue the founder’s legacy as the 3rd President of OLOPSC and this would be her way of honoring God’s call to use one’s gifts for His glory.


On her golden year, she takes on a significant role of leadership as the new President of OLOPSC and with her inspirational leadership, the Mida’s Touch will truly set off the journey to OLOPSC’s golden era.
