JHS Fosters Student Coordination Through General Assembly

To welcome new and returning students for the new academic year, the Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College (OLOPSC) Junior High School Department, in collaboration with the Coordinators for Student Formation (CSF), conducted the Junior High School General Assembly at the DS Hall on June 16–17. The program officially opened with a welcome message from JHS Principal Mrs. Perpetua Hernandez.

The orientation was facilitated by the Coordinators for Student Formation—Norika Chavez for Grades 7 and 8 and Jojo Tordillas for Grades 9 and 10. Through an interactive activity, students raised or lowered their hands to identify different types of school offenses, helping them better understand campus rules and policies.

The Assistant Principal for Administration, Mr. Richard Jardeliza, introduced school programs designed to enrich students' learning experiences. Meanwhile, the Coordinator for Student Activities, Mrs. Pia Velasquez, presented the wide range of extracurricular clubs available to Junior High School students in preparation for the preliminary Club Fair.

The Guidance Office, led by Guidance Head Ms. Cassandra Florentino, introduced its services, future initiatives, and student-centered programs. During the assembly, students were also introduced to the Junior High School faculty, non-teaching personnel, and members of the Board of Trustees, allowing them to become more familiar with the people who support their educational journey.

"The General Assembly was a big help for the students to know the rules and policies, especially for the transferees and Grade 7 students, as they become familiar with the Junior High School campus," shared Norika Chavez, Coordinator for Student Formation.

The General Assembly provided students with a meaningful introduction to the school's culture, expectations, and support services. By promoting awareness, discipline, and active participation, the activity helped prepare students to become responsible, values-driven, and future-ready learners in line with the school's mission and vision.

As part of its continuing commitment to student development, the OLOPSC Junior High School Department plans to conduct similar orientation programs for future batches to strengthen student engagement and foster excellence in education.
