SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, & MATHEMATICS (STEM)

The STEM strand aims to push our SHS students to evaluate, apply and integrate scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical concepts in collective societal problems. It prepares them to pursue college degrees that highly focus on the principles of biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics; taking them on a direct path to careers such as in civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and computer engineering; medicine; and research. This strand aims to hone future scientists, technological analysts and experts, engineers, and doctors, whose competencies are vital in a global economic sense.

ACCOUNTANCY, BUSINESS, AND MANAGEMENT (ABM)

The ABM strand introduces our SHS students to the fundamentals of accounting, business, and management concepts and principles, as well as every component that orbits around those central fields. It prepares them to pursue college degrees that deal with business and industry, leading them to careers in management and accounting such as sales management, human resources, marketing, project management, clerical accounting, and much more. This strand aims to hone future business leaders, accountants, and entrepreneurs that contribute to the country’s economic development and sustainability.

HUMANITIES & SOCIAL SCIENCES (HUMSS)

The HUMSS strand covers disparate disciplines that delve into the exploration of the human conditions, using a wide array of methods such as the empirical, analytical, and critical. It introduces our SHS students to the rudimentary understanding of human behavior and societal changes. This strand prepares them to pursue college degrees that focus on the concepts of politics, society, arts, and culture. It aims to hone future journalists, psychologists, educators, and lawyers that appreciate individual behavior and social groups, and thoroughly analyze the pressing issues that revolve around them.

GENERAL ACADEMIC STRAND (GAS)

The General Academic strand is purposively catered to SHS students that have yet to decide what program or degree they would want to take in college. At OLOPSC, our students can choose from the different electives under this track that focus on specific fields of specialization encompassing computer programming, animation, fashion, and design.
